A sweetener : Our adventure in Seine-et-Marne.
How do you go about offering promotional gifts that are ultra-local, natural, environmentally responsible and ethical when you’re a business based in Villeneuve-sous-Dammartin, in the departement of Seine-et-Marne (77) ?
To start with, the team thought up an action plan!
The adventure started with the beekeeper, Monsieur Lourenço who, some years ago, installed beehives along a wooded track near the orchard, on the ECT site at Villeneuve-sous-Dammartin. That’s how it came about that we offered to purchase part of the honey produced from the site.
The beekeeper puts the honey in pots in his workshop at Villeparisis (77), a few miles from the hives.
For the pot labels, we called upon a printing company, Roissy-Copy, located at Moussy-le-Neuf, just near Villeneuve-sous-Dammartin.
And finally, the know-how of the ESAT (Établissement et service d’aide par le travail – a work integration social enterprise (for the disabled)) La Grange au Bois, at Lagny-sur-Marne (77), came into play for the labelling process.
Our pots of multi-flower honey, packaged and ready to give away, come from within a radius of less than 20 miles from our offices. This gives a sense of achievement to the Communication team.
« I started with one hive and added more as time went by. Now there are about twenty hives producing honey, plus some smaller ones for fertilisation purposes. These bees are the kind we call « gentle », so I can work with them with a minimum of pressure. I visit them two or three times a week, or even more depending on the season. »
