The unauthorised dumping that has developed in the two municipalities of Boissy-l’Aillerie and Puiseux-Pontoise has caused a great deal of damage and has led to a deterioration of the site that could become irreparable if no action is taken.
Restoration and renaturation of a site in the Val d’Oise subject to unauthorised dumping
The ECT project in Boissy/Puiseux aims to « heal » this damaged landscape. The suggested approach takes into account all the constraints of the site: landscape, ecological and hydraulic issues.
This approach is based on 3 axes:
- Financing waste disposal and treatment.
- Redevelop and enhance the site.
- To ensure the sustainability of the project by financing it entirely.
The ECT model of financing development projects.
After consulting with the various partners involved in this project, the private owner, the Cergy-Pontoise conurbation, the municipalities of Boissy-l’Aillerie and Puiseux-Pontoise, the Val d’Oise department and the State’s decentralised services, it was decided that the site had sufficient available surface area to provide an appropriate volume of inert soil and to carry out a qualitative, agricultural and landscaping project.
The reuse of inert soil provides ECT with financial capacity for the project. The challenge is to balance the costs of waste disposal and treatment and the renaturation of the site with the volume of land received.
Key figures:
- Waste removal: 1st half of 2022 with 4 to 6 months of evacuation and treatment
- Development work with soil inputs: 2 years
- Reconstruction of 2.4 ha of agricultural land
- Creation of 1.3 ha of grassland
