“Sport en ville”: ECT opens 2 new sites for the reuse of excavated soil from the construction industry in the Paris region, with the construction of an equestrian center in Chevannes (91) and the 1st mountain bike and trials cycling stadium in Epône (78).

July 1, 2020 – By reusing excavated soil from building sites in the south and west of the Paris region, ECT is bringing two “city sports” projects to life in a landscaped setting. one is the creation of a complete equestrian center (arenas, dressage, cross-country) at Chevannes, in the Essonne region, on a derelict site. The other concerns the construction of the 1st mountain bike and trials stadium in the Île-de-France region, on municipal land.

ECT’s environmental, agricultural, leisure and sports projects are all designed to make an environmental contribution to local communities and their inhabitants, and to benefit society as a whole. These projects enable sports facilities to be developed in urban and suburban areas. These projects can be carried out quickly, since they are directly financed by land reclamation.
at no cost to the community.

These two new projects at Epône and Chavannes improve the network of ECT sites in the Yvelines and Essonne regions, and promote a short circuit from the excavation site to the development site, a circular economy for soil.

in Chevannes (91): a complete equestrian center

from the reclamation of excavated soil

Inert soil is used to create terraces on several levels for the equestrian facilities, quarries and dressage, while the cross-country course is planned on the slopes. Land reclamation and reuse finance the entire project.

11 ha rehabilitated as an equestrian center

The development project integrates all riding disciplines. The project includes and stables, as well as a clubhouse. The equestrian center will be served by a 100-space parking lot. Particular attention is paid to quality equestrian facilities. The various terraces are integrated into a landscaped setting enhanced by the layout of green spaces and wooded hillsides. ECT would also like to take advantage of the reconfiguration of the site to encourage the development of biodiversity.

in epône work with the local club, orc epône, to create a high-level mountain bike and trials center

the 1st mountain bike and trail stadium of its kind in ile-de-france

The soil contributions finance and enable the reconfiguration of the sports complex, using inert soil excavated from construction sites in the western Paris region. This inert soil will be used to create a mountain bike and trials area covering almost 2 hectares and to design a landscape suited to the practice of these sports:

  • Technical areas equipped with various apparatus, boulders and cinder blocks.
  • Tracks equipped with run-up ramps, bumps and accompanied turns.
  • Training hills for mountain biking.
  • Integrating the site into the landscape while respecting the environment.

About ECT

ECT’s growth is part of a circular economy strategy: reusing inert soil from construction sites in the Paris region to work with local authorities on concerted, sustainable development projects.

To structure this dynamic, ECT has developed “Excavated earth management” expertise to meet the need for environmental engineering and traceability in the construction and public works sector, combined with a “Development design and construction” division to offer local authorities useful projects based on the reclamation of excavated earth: landscaped or urban parks, urban farms, photovoltaic power plants, golf courses, equestrian centers or sports facilities.

Key figures: founded in 1997 ║230 employees ║A dozen sites in operation in the Paris region ║15 million tonnes of excavated material processed / year ║ 10,000 trees planted / year
