Opening of the Plaisir site
July 2023 – ECT opens its new excavated soil recovery site at Plaisir in the Yvelines department. A site perfectly situated to receive soil from construction sites in western Paris. The site is intended to create a new landscaped park and will open in 2026.
A project echoed in the press, La Gazette de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, in the article “Les travaux du parc de la Mare aux Saules ont débuté”.
A landscape ambition in favor of biodiversity
Because of the site’s special features and location, the project involves a number of challenges:
- transforming this derelict site into a natural area that blends seamlessly into its surroundings and promotes local biodiversity
- design relaxation and leisure areas conducive to outdoor activities
- create physical continuity to link the site to surrounding natural reservoirs and biodiversity areas
- implement ecological management measures for the park over a 30-year period
Sports and leisure facilities for a park open to the public
ECT, in collaboration with the local community, has planned a variety of areas dedicated to outdoor activities:
- an area dedicated to mountain biking and bike trials
- a city-stadium
- an area dedicated to basketball practice
- a children’s playground
- allotment gardens
- a petanque court
- a climbing block
- a sports trail with apparatus deployed along a path
The reuse of inert soil will provide the raw material for the site’s development project and help finance the improvements.
Project under study in the commune of Plaisir in the Yvelines department
The former sandstone quarry, exploited between 1973 and 2005, could be rehabilitated into a new landscaped park open to the public at the “Mare aux Saules” site.
The park will have to meet the ecological, landscape and leisure use requirements set by the municipality for the rehabilitation of the site.
