Opening of a new site in the Yvelines, the first mountain bike center in the Paris region.

Develop the first trial bike and mountain bike site in the Paris region

On June 15, ECT opens a new site in the Yvelines department, in the commune of Epône to be precise. This site for recycling inert soil from building sites in the west of the Paris region will be the first bike and mountain bike trial site in the Paris region.

A few words about the two disciplines:

  • Bike Trials is a sport practiced on a special bike that allows you to perform sequences over various obstacles without putting your foot down.
  • Mountain biking, as it is better known, involves learning how to handle a bike on uneven terrain from an early age.

A sports facility in the heart of Yvelines

This stadium project has been “eco-conceived” with the Off Road Cycliste d’Epône (ORC Epône) association and the town of Epône. The objective was to define the reconfiguration of the sports plateau, to offer the club new technical areas, with obstacles, to vary their training, gain experience and perform at competitions.

The site has been reconfigured by adding land, extending the mountain bike and trial bike area by almost 2 ha. Land reclamation and reuse finance all these developments.

The project includes a number of different zones: technical zones equipped with apparatus, a pump-track zone, a rock-garden and tracks equipped with bumps and turns.

Key figures

  • Project start date: June 2020
  • Duration of work: 4 months
  • 1.9 ha training and competition area
  • 150 m² rock garden, 300 m² trials area, 2 pump-track areas of 300 m² each
