Every year in the Paris region, the construction and real estate industries excavate almost 10 million m3 of inert soil. This is the equivalent of 4 Cheops pyramids. This quantity is a barometer of the Metropole’s edilitary action.

The “La terre dans tous ses états” (Soil in all its states) symposium will reveal the thousand and one ways in which this inert soil can be put to good use. The virtuous opportunity to make this production visible in a circular economy and ecological compensation approach is at the heart of approaches that are often ignored.

Speakers will explore a wide range of solutions:

  • reclaiming polluted areas
  • creation of planted parks
  • space returned to agriculture
  • transformation of soil into building materials or fertile substrate
  • the creation of artistic works

The symposium takes place at EIVP, 80 rue Rébeval – April 9 and 10, 2019 – 9am to 5pm
