For over 30 years, ECT has been employing machine operators to develop its sites and carry out its projects. Today, almost 50 drivers are in operation. They work the land they receive, creating the project’s contours and shaping the future landscape.
Each operator has to be versatile and master the operation of several machines: excavator, bulldozer, loader, dump truck.
Under the impetus of the Operations Director and site managers, ECT is training the new generation of machine operators by encouraging internal promotion. A success for

In-house mentoring assignments
Nearly 30% of ECT’s machine operators began their career as ushers. They have learned their trade from experienced employees who are keen to share their experience.
ECT is becoming a dynamic ecosystem built around in-house skills, where everyone can be a learner or trainer.
The mentee, Jeannel
On the Villeneuve-sous-Dammartin site, which Jeannel started in 2019 as an usher. To carry out this job, he has been trained to control the quality of incoming materials and ensure that safety and the environment are respected on site.
After a few years, during his career interviews, Jeannel expressed his desire to learn the trade of machine operator. After obtaining these CACES, Jeannel began mentoring.
His mentor, Noël
Jeannel learns the tricks of the trade from Noël. Drawing on his 12 years’ experience, he will support Jeannel in the various tasks entrusted to a machine operator, so that he can soon work autonomously on our sites.
Blades, safety barriers, dikes, bank maintenance – these are just some of the skills Noël shares with Jeannel on a daily basis.
ECT is proud to be able to count on its teams to pass on their knowledge, passion for the job, technical skills, experience and desire to create green, undeveloped landscapes for the benefit of all.
