Project presentation
The Gabots photovoltaic power plant in Annet-sur-Marne is one of the largest in the Paris region. It comprises 44,000 photovoltaic modules and covers an area of 18.5 hectares. The project was carried out by ACT-E, a joint venture between Akuo and ECT. The mounds were built using soil excavated from construction sites in the Paris region, enabling the slopes and inclinations to be shaped in a way that favors photovoltaic production.

Project life
Annet-sur-Marne, an energy-positive commune
The solar power plant, comprising 44,000 photovoltaic modules, covers an area of 18.5 hectares. It avoids 847 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. Electricity production covers the power supply needs of 3,700 households, or almost 10,000 inhabitants. It makes the commune of Annet-sur-Marne (population 3,300) a positive-energy commune.
Press coverage of the inauguration of one of the largest solar power plants in the Paris region
On September 29, 2020, Akuo and ECT inaugurated the “Les Gabots” solar power plant in Annet-sur-Marne (77). One of the largest solar farms in the Paris region built on inert fill. A participatory funding campaign has been opened to all citizens. Eric Sotto and Laurent Mogno took the opportunity to thank all the investors, without whom the plant would not have been possible.
Gabots" solar power plant under construction
At the end of November 2019, the first panels will be installed, with commissioning scheduled for the end of September 2020. For this project, Akuo opted for “CGL P6/72H Lox-carbon” cast-mono modules. A total of 44,000 panels were installed on the site.
Official installation of the first panel
The first panel of the solar power plant was officially installed on November 14, 2020, in the presence of Annet-sur-Marne mayor Christian Marchandeau, regional council vice-president Jean-Philippe Dugoin-Clément and Eric Scotto, president and founder of Akuo. An event at which everyone was delighted by the launch of this green, renewable energy project.
ACT-E's first project in Annet-sur-Marne
The ground-mounted photovoltaic power plant project is located in Annet-sur-Marne (77), 1 km west of the town center. Where the selected plots enjoy excellent daily sunshine thanks to their south-facing orientation, with no shady areas. This makes it possible to build a large-scale power plant.
What’s more, the elevated position of the selected sites makes them easy to integrate into the landscape. The vegetation already present will be maintained, while the wooded cover on the slopes will be made denser. The planting of oak and hornbeam trees, a plant formation found in the nearby Saint-Martin wood, is one of the main reasons for this.
Akuo and ECT: a shared ambition for solar energy
In March 2019, Akuo, France’s leading independent producer of distributed renewable energy, and ECT, a player in non-built development through land reuse, are joining forces through the creation of a joint subsidiary ACT-E. The ambition is to increase solar production in the Paris region.
