Signature of a protocol between ECT, GAUSSIN and BOUYGUES ENERGIES & SERVICES

ECT, GAUSSIN (EURONEXT GROWTH: ALGAU – FR0013495298) and BOUYGUES ENERGIES & SERVICES announce the signature of a cooperation agreement for the development of hydrogen-powered mobility solutions in the public works sector – hydrogen and electric – in 2022.

In the first phase of this agreement, ECT will entrust BOUYGUES ENERGIES SERVICES with the development of a 2 MW renewable hydrogen production and distribution station.

At the same time, ECT entrusted GAUSSIN with the design and production studies for 3 types of GAUSSIN hydrogen-powered trucks, intended for two types of flow:

  • An internal flow (on-site transport) consisting of a dozen 10×4 tipper 70-ton vehicles with 10h of autonomy, and a 10×4 tipper forwarder in autonomous version without cab, enabling an additional 25% of payload to be loaded.
  • An external flow (road transport to the site) consisting of several 4×2 44-tonne tractors with a range of 500 km.

The partners envisage the first commissionings as early as 2022.

A clean mobility ecosystem for the public works sector

ECT, BOUYGUES ENERGIES & SERVICES and GAUSSIN, resolutely committed to the ecological transition, aim to create an ecosystem of clean mobility in public works.

ECT’s business is the environmental redevelopment of degraded sites, with the aim of reclaiming the landscape, ecology, agriculture and social interest. These redevelopments are being carried out as part of a circular economy involving the reuse of excavated soil from construction sites. Soil is transported and processed by transport and construction equipment.

Within the framework of this partnership, BOUYGUES ENERGIES & SERVICES brings its expertise in the production of renewable hydrogen and in the distribution of this alternative fuel for existing industrial needs.

A goal of large-scale deployment of these solutions

This project is designed to industrialize the production of a truck model dedicated to the Public Works sector, with an optimized and competitive selling price. The eligible fleet for a model of this type represents several hundred units. The aim is to contribute to the creation of a hydrogen mobility sector for the public works industry, and to arouse interest among the sector’s earthmoving and transport players. This large-scale development of the public works sector is necessary to provide concrete solutions for sustainable mobility.

The project will be submitted to ADEME as part of a call for projects to promote hydrogen-powered mobility solutions.

A triple partnership
