Opening of a new site in Essonne, future equestrian center

Developing an equestrian center using inert soil

On June 8, ECT opens a new site in the Essonne department, in the commune of Chevannes to be precise. The purpose of this site for recycling inert soil from building sites in the south of the Ile-de-France region is to create an equestrian center.

The equestrian project has been “eco-designed” in conjunction with the Comité départemental d’équitation de l’Essonne, the commune of Chevannes and landscape architect Laurent Latte of CPA Conseils. The aim was to define upstream the equestrian development zones as well as the site’s environmental and biodiversity management.

The ambition to create a complete, environmentally-friendly equestrian center

The sports center incorporates all riding disciplines. The addition of soil allows the terraces to be shaped on several levels. These terraces will house the equestrian facilities for the riding arena and dressage, while the cross-country course is planned for the hillsides. Land reclamation and reuse finance all these developments.

ECT is taking advantage of the site’s reconfiguration to encourage the development of biodiversity. The various plateaus are integrated into a landscaped setting of green landscaping and wooded hillsides.
