ECT AND THE ASSOCIATION HUMANITÉ ET BIODIVERSITÉ SIGN A JOINT CHARTER OF COMMITMENT TO BIODIVERSITY

Villeneuve-sous-Dammartin, January 16 – Bernard Chevassus-au-Louis, Chairman of the Humanité et Biodiversité association, and Laurent Mogno, Chairman of ECT, have officially signed a joint charter of commitment to biodiversity. This Charter is the result of a year’s work with a shared objective: to share the challenges of preserving life, to participate in the development of knowledge and to affirm through action positive commitments to biodiversity. For Humanité et Biodiversité, this co-written and co-signed charter represents an opportunity to take action to integrate biodiversity into operational projects. Through this signature, ECT is structuring its capacity and methods of intervention in favor of biodiversity on a territorial scale.

The aim: to improve its expertise in the creation of non-built, differentiated-use developments that are highly conducive to the preservation and development of biodiversity.

To meet these challenges, we have chosen to focus on 3 key areas of commitment:

  • Realizing the biodiversity potential of ECT sites
  • Training in biodiversity issues
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge about biodiversity

For our
the preservation and regaining of biodiversity requires us to take into account the needs of our communities.
human activities, and to ensure that all activities contribute to the development of the planet.
to preserve our natural capital. Humans are part of biodiversity, they depend on it, they're part of it.
and he's responsible for it. So the idea of recreating where people live the
nature areas where they can taste, smell and appreciate biodiversity.
seems essential.

Jean-Pierre Durand
Chairman, Humanité et Biodiversité

There are few players like ECT with the capacity to make
environmental, green and undeveloped landscaping. We are a "manufacturer
landscapes on a large scale". I am convinced that on our projects, our approach of
biodiversity must be proactive. That's the ambition and the spirit of this charter. ECT has the
ability to make a firm, long-term commitment to generate sustainable habitats
reworked, reconstituted, preserved.

Laurent Mogno
Chairman of ECT

Biodiversity Charter: ECT's commitments

AXIS 1: REALIZING THE POTENTIAL OF ECT SITES IN FAVOR OF THE BIODIVERSITY

AXIS 2: EDUCATE PEOPLE ABOUT BIODIVERSITY ISSUES AND OPPORTUNITIES ECT SITES OFFER IN TERMS OF BIODIVERSITY

AXIS 3: CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF KNOWLEDGE ON BIODIVERSITY

E1 – Integrate biodiversity issues into the company’s strategy, take advantage of the
development of ECT projects to achieve positive action for biodiversity, from the prospecting phase to the completion and monitoring of projects
E2 – Adopt a territorial vision, combat landscape fragmentation,
land artificialisation and loss of biodiversity. ECT sites are an opportunity to increase the number of environments favorable to biodiversity and to work towards strengthening ecological continuity.
E3 – Develop a systemic vision to integrate all the components of
the environment and human/nature interdependence when designing, manufacturing
project implementation and follow-up.

E4 – Inform, train and mobilize employees (both administrative and operational) on biodiversity issues during all stages of development (invasive species, protected species, etc.) and make them aware of the potential and opportunities presented by ECT sites in favor of biodiversity.
E5 – Work with stakeholders (local authorities, town halls, local organizations…),
In this respect, it would be conceivable to draw up a “biodiversity plan” for the project. In this respect, it is conceivable to envisage the elaboration of a
charter with the various stakeholders around a concrete project.
E6 – Promote biodiversity awareness on all sites, and communicate as much as possible about biodiversity issues, in particular by promoting
and by developing flagship actions and raising awareness and informing other site users about the importance of preserving biodiversity.

E7 – As part of scientific research programs related to biodiversity, or for the needs of associations, ECT makes available sites that the company considers to be of interest for the development of knowledge about biodiversity issues.
E8 – With a view to increasing its knowledge of biodiversity, ECT is developing biodiversity partnerships to monitor changes in biodiversity and adapt actions to preserve and protect living organisms.
E9 – In order to disseminate and organize scientific knowledge on biodiversity, ECT undertakes to collect data on biodiversity, territorial policies, the circular economy, regional planning, etc., in order to ensure that these data are accessible to the public.
territory, consolidating the resource. These data can be acquired as part of ECT’s various projects, and will be made available to public research programs working in the areas mentioned above.
